  • Night! Please take me – somewhere!

Night! Please take me – somewhere!

Put me in wander, put me in the whereabouts!
Bring me back later – Keep me until tomorrow!
    Wait until Sunrise changes shifts with you;
For as here in captivity causes me sorrow!

Show me a night to never forget,
A night to live for the rest of my life.
Give me memories that show only for an instant,
But that habituate in my soul forever.

Moments that end as fast as they come,
But that stay imprinted in eternity.
Moments for which I get convinced to honor,
Deserving declaration of a day of remembrance.

Set me free, put me somewhere!
As here, now, it already feels like nowhere.
Carry me, be my escort, show me the way,
One that does not yet exist but is meant to be.

Show me what the world has to offer,
Because you do know that well by experience,
Beauty and wonder are on the loose daily,
Give me, please, a piece of that tonight!

  • “The Procrastination Page” …still in the making!

    ***** Pro-cras-ti-na-tion *****

“The Procrastination Page” - Coming Soon Sometime!  :)
…still in the making, forever in the making!…

On this page, you can find some of my original funny quotes and remarks about procrastination.

Note:  I am not finished with this page yet. I will continue working on it, OK? :)

    Anyways,

…”The Pro-cras-ti-NATION”:  isn’t that where we live in?:  “The U.S.A.”!!!

…Oh! cool page!  I’ll be back sometime to read it…

“If we do it today, then, we can no longer be “dreamers”.” :(   — Gustavo R. Olmedo

    …”Procrastination” or “Procrastinever”???

…I am not exactly “a procrastinator” – my son and daughter are. I am the “Father of the Procrastinators”.

    …I should, I may, I would, I could…

…I like this page!  I’ll bookmark it tomorrow, if I can ever find it again!

…Bookmark this page tomorrow, so that you can find it next year.

…Here’s why we keep procrastinating every year:  We had once said that for the next New Year’s Resolution, we would promise ourselves – as a Resolution, to never procrastinate again; but then, on New Year’s Eve, we never did such Resolution in the first place!

…After all these years, a friend finally gave me as a gift – a book on how to overcome procrastination. Nice!  I said:  “Finally I can get out of this!  I will definitely read it.”  That was 3 years ago. I still have not opened the book. …I think I know how the cover looks like, though!

The real story, through History: Originally, the Language Bureau, upon creating new words in the early 1,600′s in America – while extending the vocabulary of the English Language, the actual word was going to be “Procrastinationalitize” as a verb, and “Procrastinationalization” as a noun – but they never finished the rest of the characters of the word!

…Stop telling me!  OK, OK, I’ll admit to be a procrastinator some day. Let me think about it…

…I leave for tomorrow what I have to do for today. Of course, I know that tomorrow I no longer have to do it, because as a time-sensitive work, tomorrow is then useless. Ha ha, I always find a way out of everything! :P

…I have been 34 years “in the making”, but I still don’t know when I will be “finished”. I guess somewhere in my 80′s or 90′s like most other humans?

…Procrastination itself, was never meant to happen in the first place.

…I can talk about procrastination, because I finally came out of it. I no longer procrastinate! …what took so long?  …Anyways, this is good news, so I have been wanting to tell you, but hadn’t found a way to say it!

…List of Things To Do: _____________________________________.

…At least start by repeating the work to yourself!  Pro-cras-ti… YAWN!!! …ZZZ…

…”Procrastination “pays off”!  Way-off what anyone would wish for!” — GRO

…”Procrastination “pays off” very well!  “Misery” is it’s Currency.” — GRO

…What does “procrastination” means?  I heard of that word before, but never bothered to ask or look up it’s definition.

My schedule for next week:  Write something!
    Monday: “Pro”…
    Tuesday: …”cras”…
    Wednesday: …”ti”…
    Thursday: …”na”…
Friday: “Ufffff!!!  Almost there, beer today!  Let’s celebrate!
    Saturday: “Hangover”
Sunday: “Ah!  What the heck!  Forget this!”

…Alright “This is It – Now or Never”:
Things To Do this coming week:”
Monday: “Finally do what still have not done yet”
Tuesday: …”do what I was supposed to do yesterday, oh crap!”…
Wednesday: …”do what I was supposed to do on Monday”…
Thursday: …”do what I was supposed to do on Monday”…
Friday: “rest because it’s been a busy week”…
Saturday: “do what I was supposed to do on Monday”
    Sunday: “Carry on!”

Look, you know what?  Just do a tiny bit today – of whatever the task is, so then, since you actually started it – then, you can say:  “Procrastinator”???  NO! No No!  I am a “Perfectionist” – “I am still in the process of improving it!”

    “L                                                                                               .”

…I started writing an essay 2 years ago but still have not finished it.  It is about “How to Overcome Procrastination”.

    …Analysis: (by a PRO)
    Crastinator” = good
    PROcrastrinator” = best

…I have not tried eating the candy brand “Now and Later” because I don’t like the first word in it. That’s too much pressure for me.

…maybe on second thought, or on third thought – but not on the first one.

…Not a good sign:  The word “procrastination” is lately getting a nickname / shorthand:  “procky”

…One of my Original Quotation related to procrastination:  ”We make more excuses to ourselves, than to all the people we know combined.”

…Oh, and you know what?  Since we are in the subject, here’s what I think: …Actually…you know what?  I’ll just tell you tomorrow…

OK, in conclusion, these are all My Own Original Procrastination Quotes, remarks, and “funny” statements, so DO NOT STEAL THEM TO THEN PUT THEM AS YOUR OWN! …or I may have to kick your butt some day!  :)

Oh, and MORE of these type of jokes and remarks about procrastination – but from other people:  (it’s kind of cool – the link is right below, so just click it some time!)

    http://www.facebook.com/procrastination

PSST: Feel free to post HERE ON THIS PAGE (below) your own Procrastination joke, comment, or other procrastination quote down here – or a comment related to this page! …or your experiences in Life as a procratinator, or when you have procrastinated at least some time in your life!  :)   …you want to do it but maybe too lazy to commennt now?  Ha!  At least this time, don’t leave it for later – DO IT TODAY – AS IN RIGHT NOW!  Break the habit!  Speak Up!  Share!  ;-)

…does it have to be now?

  • facebook username PIÑATA IS UP for the beating by 200+ Million users!

Facebook custom usernames opened up for the grabs at 12:00 AM Saturday, July 13th, 2009.

With 200+ Million users in facebook, you should probably hurry up if you want to grab your preferred username before someone else does forever! Once they have been taken, they are gone for good!  facebook stated that usernames dropped by other users in the future, will not be recycled – for security reasons.

Some “rules” I did see posted:  the username must have at least 5 characters, dots are allowed. New accounts registered after the first announcement about the usernames was made ( just a few days ago by email to all users), will not be eligible for getting one of these usernames, to avoid current users from creating new accounts / extra accounts – just to grab another name…

…Of course, of the 53 “Gustavo Olmedo” guys on facebook – WHO DO YOU THINK GOT “GustavoOlmedo” ?????  Are you kidding me?

…Just got facebook username “GustavoOlmedo” at 1 AM – just an hour after the official opening – so my URL there is:  http://www.facebook.com/GustavoOlmedo

I admit that my Last Name is not even too common – even less when combined with my First Name – yet, there were 53 “Gustavo Olmedo” guys / “facebookers” – acording to the facebook search results when I searched today out of curiosity!

I don’t know how fast these usernames will go, but it’s maybe around these numbers: 1 out of 100 to 150 people per every combination of Name + Last Name (rough estimate according a few searches of common names and not-so-common name combinations – but of course, there are lots of users that never came back for over a year – after they first created their account = even more chances to you).

Who knows, depending on how common Your Name + Last Name combination is, you might have a few days, since some facebook users log into their account once a week or even less often, but if you wait to long you might have to settle forever with a “not-so-cute” name!  So why wait and take the risk? (unless you do not care about a shorter / “prettier” URL to your profile – like some people don’t).

…Sorry my friend, but if your name is something like:

“John Smith”, “Sarah Davis”, “Steve Johnson”, “Jose Garcia”, “Juan Perez” or “Maria Rodriguez”, etc. – GOOOOOOD LUUUUUUCK to Ya’ !!!

(Here you can see the most common “surnames” in the U.S.A.)

So, HURRY! Grab your preferred username fast!  There are 200+ Million facebookers hungry for a nice username of their choice. You don’t want to end up having to grab something like:

  • Coming Soon – My Amateur Art from the 1980′s and 1990′s – First time ever shown!

Coming Soon – My Amateur Art from the 1980′s and 1990′s – First time ever shown!

People ask me all the time, to show them my art, to make them a “piece”, what I did as I grew up, what my passions were as a child, etc.

To say it in 10,000 words, it would still be making a long story short, so I will let the images of some of my Amateur art to speak – in silence, as they will say more words themselves than what can be written. Some words, and stories that my art tells, might be completed in your own mind.

For the first time ever, I will be publishing online, images from my Amateur work from the 1990′s (most of them created between the age of 15 to 23).

By looking at such creations, you can get a better idea (just a tiny-bit) of how my mind thinks and views the world, and what “flew” through my mind back then – as a highly distracted and introverted individual – totally in my own world. …A strange and rare combination of a creative-artistic-detailed-technical-mechanical-mathematical-spatial-curious mind, with the urge to discover and build, to transfer thoughts into something concrete and palpable, to take what I could only see with my mind – and “bring it to life”.

What is more special to me about these paintings and drawings from such era, is not necessarily their technique or style, or the variety between one and another, neither it is the fact that I did this without taking any classes about any techniques on how to paint – but it is that I did all of it on my free time because I wanted to – nobody asked me to do it, nobody made me do it – yet, nobody could stop me from doing it. I had this curiosity and urge to do it, and all I needed was a few simple materials, one brush or regular pencil, one piece of paper or canvas or even cardboard, and a little corner of where to sit down and do it -but more importantly, passion.

Expect the first batch of images here – anytime. I am currently scanning paintings, drawings, and working on the cropping, resizing, and optimization of the images for web use (for faster downloads and proper size) – so stay tuned!

    What will be included:

Oil paintings, acrylic paintings, oil pastels, dry pastels, charcoal drawings, sketches, technical drawings, home plans (Amateur), Lighting and Furniture Designs, inventions…

    Update: Art uploaded:

All art (paintings and drawings mixed)

    Paintings only

    Drawings and Sketches only

  • Lorem Ipsum’s blues

Lorem Ipsum, Lorem Ipsum, what is wrong with you?
Sit Amet told me that you were not feeling too good.
Some internet users think you are a mistake in spell,
So I understand if you are not feeling too well.

But your work is used everywhere in the internet,
where I see you often with your teammate Sit Amet.
What would website designers do without you?
If we cannot recite your names, then of who?

facebook eating myspace’s candies on 2009

    ^facebook.com V.S. myspace.com at Compete.com Traffic Data (04/2008 – 04/2009)

Even though this has already been coming along in progress for a while, some public traffic data (estimates) show how facebook.com has been catching up with myspace.com in the last year. But specifically on May of 2009, some interesting numbers have resulted for the last 12 months of data:

The results for April 2008 to April 2009 for what is known as “Unique Visitors” (including an image from Compete.com), show how facebook.com has gone from about half the traffic of myspace.com – to nearly double the traffic – in the last 12 months!

Those of you who have used Compete.com and know that the data is estimated very different to what is gathered directly from a server, you should already know that numbers in Compete.com are significatly lower than the actual traffic – and not so accurate (real numbers can expected to be 3.5 to 4 times higher than what shows in compete.com, but still can vary up or down from that).

However, for the purpose of this comparison, we are “comparing apples to apples”, since we are using the same system to compare websites – so keep in mind that the ratios of the data would then be relative.

    Y no sólo porque su país lo llenaba de emoción;
