As I had promised, I am now opening the “Art Nostalgia” with a few paintings and drawings I did during my childhood and while in college, which I will be posting here regularly as I scan the originals.
But I have to start by posting first, my first painting – done at the age of only 2-1/2 – almost 3, which was done with temperas on paper, while in a nursery (my mother retired as a teacher, and she had a small Nursery with Pre-kinder and Kindergarten, where she put me to try this for the first time, together with the other kids).
My mother tells me that I was the only child that put the paper vertically, and that instead of splatering paint on the paper, I was meticulously moving the hands up and down while I felt paint on my hands for the first time – something she had never observed in her entire career as a children’s teacher). But don’t ask me, I don’t even remember of course!
